The annual membership meeting showcased the newest gift to the Society – a Chickering piano donated by the family of Jared Sidney Torrance. This piano was passed down through three generations of our city founder’s family. The acoustics in our 1936 WPA Building enhanced the music coming from the 5.5-octave rosewood Victorian Square Boudoir “baby grand” Chickering piano (circa 1850s).
Pianist and Torrance resident Mark Roulette had the honor of tickling the ivories for our listening pleasure.
