THS submitted the name of our museum volunteer, Fern Ruiz, to the City of Torrance for their Commission on Aging award to recieve the LA County Older American Recognition Event recognition. Fern was chosen by the City of Torrance to represent the City of Torrance in the county recognition event.
THS honored Fern by having a “viewing party” at the museum. There was a light lunch buffet as the video was watched. To quote Janet Payne about Fern winning the award: “We are so happy Fern was selected. She is perfection as an honoree in every way. The Museum is lucky to have her as part of our 100% vounteer organization. We love her!
The event was recorded and can be viewed at the WDACS Vimeo page.
